About Us

What is The Vélomaritime®?

In late 2018, the French regions crossed by the EuroVelo 4 set up a cycle route committee, with ambitious plans for the next 5 years (2019-2023), to promote the EV4 in France and abroad. This initiative was a follow-up to the French-English Tour de Manche partnership, which is difficult to maintain even though the cycle paths can still be used.

The cycle route committee decided to call the cycle route The Vélomaritime®. The new version of the site with the new name has been enhanced with new trails.

Since June 2021, The Vélomaritime® is a 1500 km (~ 932 miles) 100% complete cycle route linking Roscoff in Brittany to Dunkirk, on the Belgian border. Some sections are temporary pending more qualitative improvements.
