GPS Tracklogs

All the tools you need to prepare for your Vélomaritime adventure and locate where you are en route.

There are several options if you want to download the Vélomaritime tracklogs:

How can you read GPS tracklogs?

The tracklogs are recorded in a .GPX file, which is the standard file type recognised by all modern devices and software.

The OutDoors GPS solutions for hikers and cyclers are the best guides. You will also find specific applications for smartphones.

How does the route finder work?

Already know where your journey starts and ends on the Vélomaritime? Want to find the distance between two stages? Fill in the fields and launch your search.

The finder gives you the distance of your journey in kilometres. You then have access to further options if you want:

  • If the distance is longer than 60 km, the finder suggests how to split your journey into several stages. Add as many stages as you want (according to the average number of kilometres you want to cover each day) and click on the “OK, I plan” button. Your journey is spilt into stages automatically, but you can adjust the stages according to where you decide to stay.

  • Click on "Details +" to:
    • add this journey to a roadbook to save it for later
    • download the GPX file for the journey

🔴 Important: the route finder is a tool that has been developed at a national level. It will suggest the Vélomaritime cycle route as a priority, but may also suggest shorter alternatives and sometimes greenways that are not on the route. You may need to adjust some of the waypoints if you want to follow the Vélomaritime cycle route exactly.

ℹ️ If you want an itinerary that stays on the Vélomaritime route, it’s probably better to use the route planner, which will suggest predefined starting points and destinations that ensure your itinerary follows the Vélomaritime faithfully. You can then download the GPX tracklog that corresponds to your journey.
