Le Tréport
At Cayeux-sur-Mer’s beach, get back on your bike to cross Le Hable d'Ault, discovering this very old lagoon, protected from the sea by a pebble bank and providing refuge for many birds. From Bourseville to Mers-les-Bains, La Vélomaritime’s route takes you on a discovery trail. Don’t hesitate to get off this trail to stop at Ault and Le Bois de Cise, resorts strongly marked by the Art Deco period, like Mers-les-Bains, a seaside town that also boasts a fine Belle Epoque legacy as well as ancient cliffs. Crossing to Le Tréport, get a taste of what awaits you in the rest of Normandy.

The route

This part of the route is signposted EV4. At time of writing, the definitive lay-out of this stretch is still in the planning. The track through Le Hable d'Ault is pebbly. You then join a road up to Mers-les-Bains. Here, you link up with the Chemin des Etangs, going along the Bresle Valley to reach the Norman frontier towns of Eu and Le Tréport. Take care on the steep descent into Mers.
